A Quilter's Eye
About

Susan Gylling

Along with teaching quilting classes for about 12 years, I've been quilting on a longarm machine professionally for about 8 years. I've had many happy and satisfied customers, but occasionally I'd have to "lose" someone's quilt because of how terrible the back was. In fact, my daughters could hear me screaming from the neighboring town when I'd finish a pass across someone's quilt and realize when I rolled it up the tension was off, I had a tuck, snag or whatever. So to help out my own situation, I approached a longtime friend, Ren, with the idea to "see" the underside of the quilt while I was quilting the top. The resulting camera was pure brilliance! In fact, it is so fantastic that we wanted others to have one, and thus A Quilter's Eye began.

Ren at the age of 23 has all ready been working in the electronics industry for 5 years installing home theaters, car audio, and security systems, seen at: www.lowvoltconnections.com.

Susan came to Ren with a problem that exists for all Long Arm Quilters. “How can I see the bottom side of my quilt with out crawling under my machine with a flashlight?” The result of this question is the ground breaking Quilter’s Eye. Ren spent months and months developing a camera small enough to fit under a sewing machine and be able to produce enough light to see the stitches created by the sewing machine. Once the camera was developed, the task of making it easy to install was the priority. A Quilter's Eye can now be installed in less then 5 minutes.
